Michael A. Hovda

As a certified flight instructor, a career trainer, a college instructor, a business professional and the founder
and president of InsideOutLeadership®; Michael Hovda has seen the empowering effect knowledge and
preparation have on the human ability to succeed. With an educational background in counseling, theology
and aviation, Mike has spent a lifetime learning and re-learning the valuable leadership/management
principles he believes are truly keys to success.

Mike is not only an astute business person but an organizational development expert as well. He has
successfully partnered with organizations in designing and implementing strategic plans, analyzing toxic
workplace cultures and charting successful courses going forward.

Mike is also a keen communicator. He has instructed and inspired people through writing, the college
classroom, business seminars, and public speaking events in 48 states as well as Scotland, England,
Northern Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. He has trained leaders from the Pentagon to the
World Trade Center.

Mike is a MBTI™ Certified Practitioner, Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst (CPBA) and a Certified

Stephen W. Hovda

Stephen W. Hovda (BA) Steve has an eclectic background, both in the private and public sectors, ranging from Emergency Operations for the State of Ohio, 20 years, to the classroom for more than 30 years. Add to that a ministerial background, service clubs and causes, athletic coaching and administration, and he brings to the workshop a wealth of intangible attributes which make his sessions relational, engaging and rich with practical information. Steve’s workshops in the federal sector, including those focused on collaborative leadership, have generated strong reviews and high evaluation scores. Steve is also a Certified DISC Instructor.  

He has gained further experience working for The State of Arizona, the City of Delaware (Ohio), and has held positions in industry, government, education and church. Steve has been an educator with Hovda and Associates, Inc. – InsideOutLeadership™ since 2005. 

Steve has a Bachelor Degree from Arizona College of the Bible. He did post-graduate work at Grace Theological Seminary, and pursued varied interests (Communications, Education, Linguistics) at Arizona State University, Glendale Community College (Arizona) Oak Hills Christian College and, Biola University.
